Please join us on Friday 18 September, 6-8pm for MAX PEARMAIN: Original Eau De Cologne. Coinciding with London Fashion Week’s spring/summer 2027 edition, Tenderbooks invites Max Pearmain to curate their window display. Through an installation of ‘dressed’ book stacks, Max reflects on his early exposure to fashion through printed matter, memorabilia and shopping. Drawing on memories such as this photograph of Max taken around 1990, Max ‘dresses’ the Tenderbooks display in a collection of Versace Jeans Couture sweaters from his own collection in an attitude reminiscent of how he was styled in this picture by his grandfather. An accompanying text reveals the small windows of fashion Max looked into that led him to a prolific career in fashion as an editor and stylist.
The window installation will be on view from Wednesday 16 to Tuesday 22 September.
Max Pearmain is a London-based stylist. He has worked with brands including Hermes, Chloé, Supreme, Calvin Klein, Chanel and Burberry, as well as establishing the fashion project Symonds Pearmain from 2016 to 2018. He has contributed to titles including W, The Gentlewoman, Arena Homme+ and i-D.
