About

Tenderbooks is a bookshop and event space for independent publishing in central London.

Established in 2014, our bookshop sources a rich diversity of printed matter acrosss artist books, zines, photobooks, journals and print editions, with an emphasis on supporting small presses and self-published material.

Tenderbooks hosts a programme of regular weekly book signings, readings and performances to celebrate the launch of new titles. We programme in-store exhibitions, installations and window displays by contemporary artists working with printed matter in expanded forms. The space showcases contemporary publishing alongside rare, archival and avant-garde material.

Our programme to date has featured collaborations with AA Bronson and General Idea, Cory Arcangel, Atelier E.B., David Horvitz, Mawuena Kattah, Baldwin Lee, Thurston Moore and Ecstatic Peace Library, Sheila Rock, Lina Scheynius, Carol Schneemann and Stephen Willats.

Experimental publications and editions are commissioned through our Tenderbooks Imprint. Projects have included a recipe book, a vinyl record, a series of bookmarks, a handmade textile book wrapper, and many others.
