About

Tenderbooks is a space for independent publishing in Cecil Court, WC2.

The bookshop commissions a programme of regular events including signings, performance and installations by contemporary artists working with printed matter in expanded forms. We also curate displays of rare avant-garde print and ephemera.

Projects to date have featured works by AA Bronson and General Idea, Aktionsraum, Cory Arcangel, Atelier E.B., Joseph Beuys, Mawuena Kattah, Chris Marker, Thurston Moore and Ecstatic Peace Library, Cady Noland, Carolee Schneemann and Stephen Willats.

Experimental publications and editions are commissioned through the Tenderbooks Imprint. We also love to work with collectors and institutions to create bespoke libraries.

Tenderbooks buys rare publications relating to art and design, especially artist books.

Our basement gallery space is occasionally available to hire for exhibitions and events, proposals should be sent to hello (at) tenderbooks.co.uk
