Please join us on Tuesday 5 July, 6-8pm for an evening of sonic listening and insight from Editor of The Slow Grind Georgina Johnson who will be building a visceral picture of the ‘why’ behind her work through a plethora of media and conversation.
The Slow Grind: Finding Our Way Back to Creative Balance is a collection of essays, think pieces and conversations, gathering some of the most formidable voices across the cultural industries. Driven by a commitment to socio-political change, through creative and community-oriented thinking, The Slow Grind positions conversations and writings at the juncture of environmental and social justice. This book explores larger questions that relate to the condition of our world, the makeup of our cultural industries and the future of our communities - human and non-human. This is an invitation. One that hopes to encourage the process of recovery through unlearning.
With contributions from Bethany Williams, Caryn Franklin MBE, Campbell Addy, Francesca Gavin, Giulia Tomasello, Ib Kamara, Juno Calypso, Kimberly Jenkins, Material Driven, Maisie Skidmore, Orsola de Castro, Pak Chiu, Renuka Ramanujam, Seetal Solanki, Sara Arnold, Tamsin Blanchard and Wilson Oryema.
