PARTNERS is an annual magazine about relationships. Each issue begins with a single question, inviting people from different disciplines to respond in their own way. Issue #4 asks, "What do you follow?"
Featuring contributions from 22 people—including photographers, an astronomer, an anthropologist, and artists—such as Mark Manders, Nobuyoshi Araki, Nigel Shafran, and Tim Ingold, the issue explores what each of them is following. Together, these responses reveal that what we choose to follow also reveals who we are.
This window installation at Tenderbooks extends the publication into physical space by presenting personal objects belonging to the contributors themselves. These are not museum pieces or valuable artefacts in any conventional sense. Instead, they are ordinary things made extraordinary through memory, use, and attachment. They are the objects people have chosen to keep close.
Rather than illustrating the magazine, this installation invites visitors to step inside its pages. By encountering these objects alongside the publication, we hope to make each contributor's answer feel more tangible while encouraging a deeper understanding of the lives, relationships, and ways of seeing that shape PARTNERS.
