A stunning artist book project from Takashi Homma that tenderly pays homage to Hokusai's Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. In Homma's Our Mountain a selection of images of Mount Fuji are printed with letterpress. Homma experiments with different densities of ink and pressure to gradually darken the colour with the resulting imagery being scanned and printed again using an offset printer. 

When the photo prints are collected together into a book sequence we see the mountain image moving from light to dark, and then into rich colour, so that the series gently evokes a mountain glimpsed in different seasons or qualities of daylight. A beautifully simple idea not to mention a clever reply to the form of the photobook.
