Lumières. - Chloê Gateaud

This graphic zine aims to explore iconography and the representation of light through different plastic mediums. It features a wide range of light sources, whether natural or artificial, from flickering candle flame to bursting flashes. Using graphic techniques such as framing, overlapping, or adding shapes to photographs, we discover that light can be diffusing, dazzling, blinding, wavy or sparkling. This book presents itself as a notebook, offering reflection on how light shapes our everyday lives and occupies our space.
 
The light aspect is also highlighted in the format of the edition. Some studies have been screenprinted with fluorescent ink, bringing real touches of light to reading. The paper cover, slightly iridescent and wavy, allows it to reflect light and modify the readability of the title according to our luminous environment. Finally, the Coptic binding and the large number of notebooks allow the edition, once unfolded, to create a radiation effect.
