Seminal photobook from the former Avedon assistant Ken Ohara. ONE is Ohara's first book in which he presents over 500 tight close-up uniform facial portraits taken on the streets of New York in the sixties. Ohara's subjects vary in gender, race and age but the portraits come together as a homogenous whole. The intimacy and accumulative impact of presenting a work of this scale in book form amplifies the utopian intentions of Ohara's project. A vital work in the history of 20th century photography.
