Dust jacket torn at the top left and bottom right corners with some foxing on the endpapers. Overall a well survived copy.
An incredible work by Brandt made with his medium format camera. The series includes a striking collection of nude portraits taken in beach environments where the human form because increasingly abstract and seems to merge with the landscape. As Lawrence Durrell puts it in the preface to the book: 'Brandt uses the camera as an extension of the eye - the eye of a poet; he is to photography what a sculptor is to a block of marble.'
