Symphony II - Nobuo Iida

£28.00

Symphony II marks a new chapter in Nobuo Iida’s photographic work, featuring over 40 unpublished images. After exploring the poetry of flowers in Symphony, this second book broadens the focus to include other forms of plant life, such as grass, roots, and even spider webs.

Iida’s approach remains deeply rooted in his connection to light and nature, a journey that began after the 2011 earthquake in Japan. This pivotal moment led him to develop a unique technique, using “inappropriate” lenses to reveal hidden particles of light and create images where plants and light merge in a visual alchemy imbued with mysticism and joy.

In Symphony II, he continues this exploration with photographs that invite the viewer into a dreamlike journey. Lines blur, colors blend, and each image unveils a hidden, fleeting beauty while celebrating the diversity of the plant world.

True to his artisanal approach, Iida does not use any software to modify his images, relying instead on handmade filters and an intuitive mastery of light.
