CHRISTO. Wrapped. Stacked. Stretched. Covered.

CHRISTO.
Wrapped. Stacked. Stretched. Covered.
A new list of publications and ephemera relating to Christo, spanning the artist’s work from 1964 onwards. These pieces originate from the collection of Christo’s archivist Jacob Baal-Teshuva and the majority are inscribed to him with personal notes from the artist.
A poem by the artist’s son, a bootleg t-shirt, fabric samples, an archival photograph and a scarce catalogue to accompany the presentation of 5,600 cubicmeter package at documenta IV in 1968.
This varied material emphasises the scope of Christo’s work in public and cultural contexts but also in its global, environmental reach, with many of his projects interacting with obscure and challenging terrains. Included here are publications from the United Arab Emirates, Slovenia, Sweden, Poland, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and USA.
Items from our list and many other books on Christo will be on display in the Tenderbooks window from 1 May.
