The Apryl Fool - Apryl Fool
The Apryl Fool.
Second edition vinyl record. Original sleeve, obi and insert. Blow Up Records & Columbia Japan, 1976.
A fine sleeve and insert with obi a little bent. The vinyl appears unplayed and in excellent condition.
A scarce vinyl by the short-lived but influential Japanese psychedelic rock group 'Apryl Fool' with cover photography of the band by Nobuyoshi Araki. The group formed in 1969 from members of 'The Floral' together with Haruomi Hosono and quit the day their self-titled record was released. Tadaki ‘Chu’ Kosaka later joined the chorus of the musical 'HAIR', and started the first Japanese gospel label. Bassist Haruomi Hosono went on to form the pioneering electronic group 'Yellow Magic Orchestra' and a wide-ranging solo career. The band also participated in the soundtrack for Yoshishige Yoshida's movie 'Eros + Masacre' with direction from Toshi Ichiyanagi, a member of Fluxus. This copy, complete with obi and insert, is a scarce second edition repressed in 1976, while the original pressing is incredibly hard to find.
