making beautiful drawings - Damien Hirst
Small exhibition catalogue (215 x 150). Card wrappers with titles printed in bright blue, illustrations reproducing works from the exhibition. From the first edition of 800 copies only. Some toning to the wrapper, otherwise a very good copy. Berlin: Bruno Brunnet Fine Arts, 1994.
Scarce catalogue to accompany Hirst's show that was hosted by Bruno Brunnet Contemporary Fine Art whilst Hirst was living in Berlin. As part of the installation, visitors were invited to make their own ‘beautiful’ drawings for free. The catalogue publishes a conversation between Brunnet and the artist in which it was put to Hirst, “I could do that [spin drawings] with my eyes closed … where’s the art in that?” To which Hirst responded, “Exactly. That’s the point.”
