246 little clouds - Diter Rot
246 little clouds.
First edition. 8vo. Unpaginated. Profusely illustrated in cloth boards with dust jacket. New York: Something Else Press, 1968.
A fine copy.
An artist book inspired by James Joyce’s short story A Little Cloud. The work is described as a ‘lyrical diary’ with handwritten texts and figurative drawings taped to each page, in the style of a book-proof. Due to a misunderstanding with the publisher the book was printed over-exposed. Rot would later release a correctly exposed form of the book as part of his Collected Works series. A playful artist book work that identifies the scope of Rot’s work as visual artist, writer and book designer. With an introduction by Emmett Williams.
