Issues 5 and 9 of Salon Des Chapeaux, the magazine published by the first vocational hat school established in Japan in 1951. Handsomely illustrated, the magazines act both as a lookbook of contemporary hat fashions and also a technical guide for milliners. The Salon Des Chapeaux academy in Tokyo was the first hat-making institution in Japan, encouraging students to make hats in all genres from casual to formal styles.
