Café du Rêve - Marc Camille Chaimowicz

CHAIMOWICZ (Marc Camille). Café du Rêve. First edition. Small 4to, [188 pp.], illustrated with numerous colour and b&w plates in the original glossy paper wrapper, English text. Paris, Editions du RegardGalerie de France, 1985.
Note that this copy is the same as pictured but sealed in thin plastic. Fine.
Artist’s book on reverie continuing the theme of Chaimowicz’s first publication Dream: An Anecdote (1977) and perhaps his most ambitious book project at the time. The book is structured like a journal that travels between the desert, the park and the hotel room using a collage of polaroids, postcards and texts in combination with MCC’s characteristic motifs. An important example of the artists’ pairing of text and image as well as his early experiments with book form.
