Gil Silverman, Judith Herschman and Ken Friedman invite you to attend a FLUXCONCERT party...

Original poster [36 x 43cm], b&w printing.
1979
A little yellowed with horizontal fold

A merry poster invitation to an afterparty following the FLUXCONCERT held at The Kitchen in 1979. This concert reconstructed over forty short performance pieces including works such as ‘One for Violin Solo’ by Nam June Paik and ‘Incidental Music’ by George Brecht. The concert invited open participation and even the programme was designed as a folded paper airplane to be launched into the audience.

This poster too acts as a programme of sorts, listing a cast of 13 artists around its edges including Dick Higgins, Simone Forti & Alison Knowles. Yoshi Wada is drawn as an angel and a ghost-like creature appears next to the name of George Maciunas at the top right, who died the previous year in 1978.
