'au-delà du déclic' was the first work in Lemaître's series of interactive 'Films Imaginaires' (Imaginary Films). The publication played a crucial role in the realisation of these film-happenings, acting as a macquette or instruction manual that was handed to audience members as they entered the theatre inviting them to take an active part in the screening. Often film was projected directly onto the bodies of audience members using multiple screens. Lemaître says of these works: "I filmed these texts and converted them into inter-titles for projection. The conversion of these texts to frames of film, and their subsequent projection, transforms these “films” into an even more progressive type of cinematic creation." The publication is a dynamic assemblage of material including the artists' notes, collage and artwork.
