Vestoj - On Slowness

Vestoj is an annual academic journal concerning dress and fashion. In Slowness Milan Kundera, the Czech writer remarks that ‘there is a secret bond between slowness and memory, between speed and forgetting’. With essays concerning Gandhi’s adoption of Khadi garments, monastic dress, on waiting and the context of time in the fashion show, May Morris and the arts and crafts movement and the symbolic importance of splendour in dressing.
