Exhibition Ephemera for 'Walking in Circles' and 'Heaven and Earth'. - Richard Long

LONG, Richard.
Exhibition Ephemera for 'Walking in Circles' and 'Heaven and Earth'.
Two original illustrated exhibition brochures. London: Hayward Gallery, 1991 and Tate Gallery, 2009.

A handsome brochure for Walking in Circles at the South Bank Centre in 1991. This exhibition marked 25 years of Richard Long’s career and featured four large-scale mud works – each made directly onto the gallery walls – ten major floor-pieces, and a range of text and photographic works. This brochure includes a text by Sean Rainbird, illustrations of works from the exhibition and a text work by Long 'Dartmoor Riverbed Stones' printed on the reverse of the publication.

Heaven and Earth at Tate Britain was Long's first major survey in London since Walking in Circles in 1991. This striking brochure designed by Long for the exhibition folds out into a double-sided poster. One side features nine photographic and text works, while the reverse shows a detail of a large-scale mud wall work that formed the centrepiece of the exhibition.
