Brilliant, scarce catalogue for the important show Strange Abstraction at Touko Museum of Contemporary Art in 1991 curated by Jeffrey Deitch with the incredible line-up of Robert Gober, Cady Noland, Philip Taaffe and Christopher Wool. Deitch gave each artist a group of major works and the exhibition was effectively structured as four related solo shows. Excellent documentation of the works plus a detailed interview with each artist. An intriguing forward by Deitch gives his manifesto for the show as a political reinvention of abstraction.
